The purpose of this product is to present a different low-risk business improvement concept with respect to strategic safety management
The product forms part of the ManagerSA product line and is called the Safety GAP knowledge transfer presentation. It is customized for Executive Managers and CEO’s only since it is mostly presented on an individual basis.
The presentation is 1 hour extendable to 2 hours and addresses a low risk business improvement concept. This concept relates entirely to Safety where it is defined as: Safety = Security ∩ Health ∩ Systems
However, the presentation will only concentrate on (high level) Systems, being the most unknown but also the most viable change agent for safety. The business risk addressed herewith is those unknown safety costs to company (accumulated direct and indirect safety costs).
The Safety Gap presentation addresses the following points: Safety definition and implication - 5 minutes System definition and implication - 5 minutes De-construction of Safety - 10 minutes Loss of Non-linear thinking - 10 minutes Re-constructing Safety - 10 minutes Vertical Safety Technique - 20 minutes
Consumer advantages of the Safety Gap concept implementation are: The Company’s products will become safer for use. More competitive prices due to less production losses.
Organizational benefits of the Safety Gap concept implementation are: Liability reduction and improved safety objectives. Clarity with respect to safety strategy and reputation. Strategically, safety is not really viewed as an important corporate factor even if it has a high priority. However, the political, legal and reputation ramifications of safety risks are quite real if one looks at media articles on production-loss, legal fines and insurance premiums. Relative improvement of the bottom line. This concept will emphasize possible “surgical” low cost business improvements. However, what is more important is the CEO’s future safety reference framework. No implementation risks. This concept is based on current practices applied by the Military, utilized by the System Safety Society in the United States and improved by Design Management Techniques (Canada). No special resources or additional resources are required to implement this concept. This alone will improve safety synergy within the organization. More structured and manageable media exposure based on closing the Safety Gap.
Note: Even though environmental aspects are not directly discussed, the safety framework being presented accommodates integration with health, security and the environment;
Environmental compatibility will be improved (safer for the surrounding communities). If you would like to know more about Vertical Safety contact us or call us on +27 71 881 3577 for further assistance.
