The purpose of this product is to educate pre-school children with respect to safety. Initially it will depend on corporate social responsibility funding from Corporations for implementation.

This product forms part of the EmpowerSA product line and is called the Education Gap training course. It is customized for small children generally within corporate employee communities and crèches. The course will be supported by further independent exposure at the Grade 5 & 6 levels. (In the Gauteng region only)

The training course is intended to be regulated within the school curriculum schedule over the course of a quarter year. It is intended to be a visual communications exercise of less than 1 hour per day where it will be administered by Teachers.

The business risk addressed herewith is the lack of community support for parent employees exposed to health and safety regulations. With this training it is possible to address children as well as ABET training with the same system.

Course development requires the following:

This course is intended to focus on people development rather than system development i.e. people are the purpose but also the most significant resource.

In order to address safety, “resources” will have to be trained and the best place to start is before school. It has been established that African pre-school education safety training relates to tribal scenarios which does not include technology and systems.

It is therefore required to develop a visual interactive communications education course where this gap is addressed. In this way the people or resource problem is corrected. This course can be developed with the assistance from Emory University in the US.

In order to correct the “purpose” problem, two courses will be required. These are the technology course followed by the risk abatement course

The technology course will be built around the Siemens scientific experimental kit developed for pre-school children.

The risk abatement course is a theater type play of current preventive activities required, such as for basic health, accident and goods/property damage.

The Education Gap pre-school course consists therefore in principle of three modules to be applied 1 month each. Each Module will consist of 4 presentations to be repeated 5 times during the standard work week.

The advantage to the sponsor is that its own communities can be addressed first thereby indirectly improving the safety culture of that company.
